HSE Lead (f/m/d) - Data Center Construction Site
Your task
- Promote a culture of safety and responsibility in order to create an accident-free working environment – including the control of complex risks in a GC (general contractor) project involving a wide variety of trades
- Lead the implementation of the HSE roadmap defined by the customer and ensure compliance with internal company, legal and project-specific requirements
- Act as a competent advisor for operational project management in HSE matters
- Apply internal and external tools to audit the relevant areas and continuously develop them on the project construction site
- Identify opportunities for improvement in terms of safety and environmental performance, implement permanent corrective measures and create action and training plans to achieve results
- Lead the HSE team and adhere to the corresponding budget, taking into account the implementation of important safety programs, including working at heights, electrical safety, lock-out/tag-out and others
- Assuming full responsibility for all HSE functions on the project, including occupational safety and health management, hazardous substance management, emergency planning, and environmental protection
- Implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of the PORR safety management system in accordance with ISO standards such as DIN EN ISO 45001:2015, e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001
- Fulfilment of the duties of an occupational safety specialist in accordance with § 6 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (ASiG), in particular:
- Ensuring compliance with legal regulations by implementing and enforcing applicable HSE regulations and standards in all project phases
- Preparation and implementation of risk assessments
- Preparation and active participation in meetings of the occupational safety committee
- Acting as a liaison with authorities and partners to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements at all times
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, civil engineering, environmental engineering or comparable technical qualification (e.g. certified master craftsman or technician)
- Qualification as an occupational safety specialist or safety engineer in accordance with § 7 ASiG
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in construction, preferably in the field of Data Centers and international customers
- Proven leadership experience in HSE functions is a big plus
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, influence and motivate cross-functional teams and contractors in a safety-critical environment
- Excellent knowledge of common IT applications (e.g. MS Office, Sharepoint, Jira, Confluence, SAP)
- Professional language skills in German and English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany (especially to the Berlin and Frankfurt regions)
